Frequently Asked Questions concerning the International Freiburg Gymnastics Congress

Will I get the money back if I unsubscribe?

That depends on the situation.

The cancellation policy accepted by all participants at registration is as follows:

"Any withdrawal must be made in writing. Please understand that we have to charge a handling fee of 25 € for cancellations. For cancellations after 30 September, the full participation fee is due."

In principle it is therefore possible to cancel your registration and receive the participation fee - 25 € processing fee. However, this must be done before 30 September.

Partial cancellations are also possible. Please note, however, that the group discount may be cancelled at a later date. If a group has less than 5 people due to the cancellation, the participation fee will be adjusted and the group discount will also be cancelled.

The desired working groups are fully booked. Are there waiting lists?

Experience shows that there are a lot of rebookings immediately before the congress, as we often add additional workshops and lectures as needed.

When registering, we can take into account the wish to reserve a fully booked (or several) working group. The participants move up automatically when space becomes available. The final personal congress programme will be printed daily on the Friday before the start of the congress and will include the modified admission.

Can I register if I don't have a trainer license?

Basically, our course is designed for everyone and all courses can be attended depending on your interests. Only the trainers with an A- or B-license have to pay attention to the corresponding workshop numbers when selecting the courses. For the other trainers these numbers are only for orientation.

If I have a C-Trainer license, can I register for topics for A-Trainer and compile the plan in a way that suits me from the topic?

In principle, it is possible to register for each working group. Everyone can put together their own personal package as they wish. However, there is only one restriction: Trainers who wish to extend a B or A trainer license MUST visit the appropriate working groups.

Can I register with a specialist trainer licence for competitive sports?

With a professional trainer license you can also register for the competitive part without any problems.

There is the principle that training in the specific area of the licence which is eligible for renewal must be completed. However, it is also assumed that an event with more in-depth topics is in any case capable of training the trainers who may still be so far along with their level.

Can my gymnasts also participate?

The event is designed to be suitable for both trainers and gymnasts.

The participation of gymnasts is particularly recommended for two reasons. Firstly, the gymnasts themselves can learn a lot depending on the working group. Furthermore, experience shows that the coaches learn more if they have the opportunity to ask questions directly about the problems of their gymnasts and get appropriate answers.

No registration confirmation yet?

A registration confirmation is usually sent 3 to 4 weeks after registration.

If this time has not yet passed, we ask for a little more patience.

However, if more time has elapsed, please inform us briefly: it is possible that the letter, email etc. did not reach us for some reason. We are happy to investigate the matter.

Why are the names of the workshops and speaches so long (six-digit)?

The workshops and speaches numbers have four different areas.

The first number stands for the Level.

  • 3: Coaches Level 3 and below
  • 2: Coaches Level 2 and below
  • 1: Coaches Level 1

The second number stands for the day:

  • 1: Saturday
  • 2: Sunday

The third and fourth numbers represent the block:

  • 10: 9.00am-10.30am
  • 11: 9.00am-  9.45am (scientific part)
  • 12: 9.45am- 10.30am (scientific part)
  • 20: 11.00am-12.30am
  • 21: 11.00am-11.45am (scientific part)
  • 22: 11.45am-12.30am (scientific part)
  • 30: 14.00am-15.30am
  • 31: 14.00am-14.45am (scientific part)
  • 32: 14.45am-15.30am (scientific part)
  • 40: 16.00am- 17.30am
  • 41: 16.00am- 16.45am (scientific part)
  • 42: 16.45am- 17.30am (scientific part)

The fifth and sixth number is the identification for the room.

The workshop number "311005 - Flightelements on uneven bars I" for instance is an offer for all licence levels (3); it takes place on the first day (1) and at the first block from 9.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. (10) in the gym (05).

What are the requirements for participation?

There is no formal requirement.

If you would like to participate, you can register without further ado. The only requirement is your own motivation.

How do I register?

You can register in a variety of ways.

  • Digital:This is what we like best, because the data can usually be transferred without errors. For this you need this Formular (if you don't have any experience with PDF forms, please have a look at the Tutorial zur Anmeldung (registration) BEFORE filling it in).
  • Traditional: Send us a printout of the Formulars by fax or post.
  • By phone: under the number +49 761 2034525.

Due to our other activities at the institute, we are not always available by   telephone, but we call you back whenever we can detect missed calls in our telephone (but the transmission of the telephone number must not be switched off).

How do I renew my license?

Approx. 15 minutes after the end of the event (Sunday at 05.45 pm), each participant will receive a confirmation from us. The confirmation includes the number of units attended (usually 8 or 16, depending on whether the participant was at the congress for a day or two).

This certificate must then be submitted independently to the respective Gymnastics Federation, which issues the license extension. In the case of C-Trainer licenses, the certificate is issued by the national gymnastics federation (Landesturnverband ). In the case of B and A trainer licenses, this is the German Gymnastics Federation (Deutsche Turner-Bund).

If the participant is from abroad, he/she must ask in his/her country how the extension will take place.

What about the overnight accommodation?

The organisation can assist participants in choosing and booking accommodation. For this purpose we have compiled a list of hotels and accommodation that must be booked by each individual.

In addition, there is the possibility of staying overnight in the hall of the institute for a total of 20 participants or more. For this we need a timely notice so that we can appoint a responsible person and also take care of dinner and breakfast. In the hall you can choose a place as you like.

How many sessions are required to renew a license?

The licence holder must complete 15 learning units in order to renew the licence (regardless of type A, B or C trainer licence).
