In gymnastics, an optimal VO2 max allows a better recovery between apparatus.
In the same way, for the compatibility of the load, the aerobic training represents one of the essential factors of the physical preparation. Therefore, estimation of the maximum aerobic speed is essential. Several laboratory and field tests exist in the literature, but there is no specific test for gymnasts.
Thus, in this workshop we present a specific test that could replace the shuttle run test elabored by Léger and Boucher (1985).
Estimation of maximal aerobic speed and VO2 max in gymnasts.
